Youtube is a fickle beast….
I’ll put out a video of an 8th Grader benching 275 (oddly enough one of my most watched video) and people will comment “yeah bench iz stoopid, reals athletes run.”
….and I’ll put out a video for 3 Tips To First Step Speed and people will comment “I bets they can’t bench their bw..”
Of course I’m making light of some youtube commenters, and I actually LOVE my subscribers and most comments!
So, I’m swinging back to general physical prepardness for a video! These guys are getting crazy strong, but if they can’t move it doesn’t mean squat (pun intended).
Exercise: 100 Yard Burpee Squats.
Purpose: Move in multiple planes of motion. Controll and deceleration their bodyweight. Use compound movements for more muscle activation.
How to Perform: The lifter performs 10 FULL bodyweight squats and then burpee to broad jumps for 10 yards. At 10 yards they perform 10 more full body weight squats. Repeat for 100 yards.
High squats or crappy push up form equals a 10 yard penality for that athlete.
